SERRALUNGA SUPPORTS THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER

Raising funds to fight breast cancer. This is the aim of the event organized by the  Susan Komen Association that was held Thursday December 4th at the St. Regis Hotel in Rome.

Thanks to the Charity Gala, Pink Tie Ball, this year at his seventh edition, 120.000 were raised that will be donated for the research against breast cancer. Serralunga supported this great cause, donating one of its furnishing pieces that was put up for auction.

This year was the bench Giulietta to represent Serralunga.

The aim of the event was successfully reached. Over 200 guests took part to the silent auction, offering generous amount of money to buy pieces of the greatest brands in fashion, furniture, high-tec and turism.

In addition to the night's Patronesses, Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Rosanna Banfi, many well-known people took part: the gala's presenter Paola Saluzzi,  Aurelio and Luigi De Laurentiis, Carlo Verdone, Lino Banfi, Lillo and Greg, Luigi Abete, Paolo and Maite Bulgari, Giovanni Petrucci, Italo Zanzi, Pietro Ghedin, Corradino Mineo. Welcoming the guestes were Robert Koren, Vice President & Regional Director Starwood Southern Europe, and Riccardo Masetti, president of Susan Komen Italia.

The funds will be used to realize projects programmed for 2015: widen the activities of the Service of Oncological Complementary Therapy that works at the Centro Integrato di Senologia (senology) at Policlinico A. Gemelli in Rome; widen the programme for secondary prevention for incarcerated women, already done at Rebibbia, other feminine prisons in Lazio; buy an equipment for advanced treatments of lymphoedema and for better healing of surgical wounds.

Every year, in Italy alone, over 47.00 women keep on receiving a breast cancer diagnosis: one every 15 minutes. Therefore, there is still a lot to do in order to make this disease more and more curable everyday. Serralunga and the Susan Komen Association will continue to support this important cause.
